Easter Baptisms

As we were programming Easter, our goal was to make life-change the central theme that everything built towards. So in the process of brainstorming elaborate creative elements that could set-up the sermon, it became more and more evident that what would set Pastor Steven up best to give an invitation would be to simply see people who had given their life to Christ profess their faith through baptism. So during a medley of Stronger, The Same Power and To Know Your Name, we had over 60 people get baptized in two tanks in the middle of the crowd. There were also two platforms by each tank where a worship leader was stationed. This created a very powerful moment as Mack, London and the student choir were on stage leading worship, while Chris and I were on the other end of the arena leading at the same time by the baptism tanks. The whole spiritual dynamic of the room changed, and you could feel the Holy Spirit at work in such a tangible way. I think it is safe to say that it was one of the most powerful moments we have ever experienced as a church. It was personally my favorite part of the day.

Here’s some pics of what was taking place at the same time in the arena.

There are not enough words in the Webster to even begin to explain the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at the Easter Worship experience. The music was over the top! Once again my 15 yr old son was asking the names of the different songs that were song so he can download them on his I-pod. Thanks for the playlist. We visited Elevation in Oct 09 and have been attending since. To see my two children (15 and 19) wanting to go to church every weekend is the work of our God and Elevation. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for bringing our entire family closer to God. You all are awesome worship leaders!

Copy/paste what Leigh said….only my children are 23 and 26! Same reaction. We were all in tears during Baptisms. My daughter was baptized 2 yrs. ago and she stated what a powerful moment that is to witness. Holy Spirit is moving in The Baptism AND those of us witnessing! So grateful.. that.. was a part of the service! Love ya’ll!!

I recorded the baptism/music segment… it still grabs me when I replay it. People just say, ‘awesome’ when I show it to them. You could really feel God’s presence at that place. I wish the whole church could unite more often.

Hey. I was one of the one’s who had the honor to be babtized. it was amazing. everyone has asked me how it was, and i had no other words beside awesome and amazing. God was there. It was incredible. I was balling. I had family and friends come, who havent been to church in a long time. and it was increadible to see lives changed, and to see other people publicly define their love for Christ through babtism.
