On November 21, we release our new album “For The Honor.” And while we’re excited for you to hear these new songs from our first live record, we also wanted to capture the opportunity to be generous with this release. So, we’re partnering with Compassion’s Child Survival Program to help support the people in Kamwokya, one of the poorest slums in Uganda’s capital city. On the weekend we release “For The Honor” to our church, we’ll be giving away Elevation’s proceeds to the women and children of Kamwokya through Compassion International. In addition, on November 21, when the album releases nationwide, we’re giving away our proceeds from the digital release on iTunes to support them as well.

WHAT’S THE NEED?

In our world, every three seconds a child dies of completely preventable causes such as diarrhea, pneumonia and malnutrition. A staggering nine million children globally will not reach their fifth birthday this year. While that number is overwhelming, through this project we can make a tangible, life-changing difference in Kamwokya.

Kamwokya is a destitute community on the northern edge of Kampala where families live on less than $1 a day. The unemployment rate is an overwhelming 40-percent. Homes there are single-room shanties where 8 or more person families live without access to water or toilets. And 47% of Kamwokya’s children do not complete secondary school. Your purchase of “For the Honor” means hope for mothers and babies there in Uganda.

Elevation Church is the sole sponsor for Kamwokya. And we’re excited to partner with Compassion who already works alongside St. John’s Church of Uganda-Kamwokya to uphold the slum’s destitute with holistic support that includes food, medicine, health training and spiritual nurturing.

WHAT’S IT GOING TO TAKE?

$25,000 will completely fund the Child Survival Program in Kamwokya for one year, and Elevation Church wants to give you the opportunity to be a part of changing this community. By giving away our release day proceeds, we can fully fund the efforts in this slum.

HOW DO YOU GET INVOLVED?

As mentioned, whenever you purchase a copy of “For The Honor” on iTunes on November 21, we’ll be giving away our proceeds to this initiative. And we want to support them in the biggest way possible. So, we’d love for you to spread the word as much as you can that we’re doing this. Tell people that when they purchase a digital copy of the album on iTunes on release day, they’re helping children in Uganda live a healthier life. So please help us get the word out.
