“All Creatures Of Our God And King”

Wednesday, August 31st, 2011

This past weekend we opened our worship experience of “All Creatures Of Our God And King.” Incredible hymn. Obviously. We wanted to lead it through a vocoder and some auto-tune to get creative at each of our campuses as we kicked off our new series “The Prodigy In Me.” And now we want to share it with you guys. Hope you enjoy.

Elevation 3D Easter Highlights

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

This past Easter weekend, what we saw God do was nothing short of miraculous. First, let me say that we expected God to show up and move powerfully this Easter. Our staff and volunteers prayed big, audacious prayers around the clock for 72 hours straight leading up to our first worship experience of the weekend on Friday night. We asked boldly for God to save hundreds over the course of our 21 Easter experiences. But even our most audacious prayers fell short of what He accomplished here this weekend.

Pastor Steven preached on Acts 1:8 as his central verse for Easter. He focused on the 3 locations from the verse: Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and the ends of the earth, and then equated each to where we may stand in relation to God. It was brilliant. To bring this sermon to life, our creative team followed Pastor Steven across the country, shooting in Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon and used these locations as modern day versions of the places mentioned in the Acts passage. And as I’m sure you’ve heard by now, we filmed parts of these sermons in 3D. We also had other 3D elements in the worship experience. To go along with the “Jerusalem” segment of the sermon, the band played a bluegrass/folk arrangement of “Nothing But The Blood” and shot a 3D video of them performing it. The band also played Katy Perry’s “Waking Up In Vegas” to accompany the “Judea, Samaria” portion of the sermon, with 3D video footage from Vegas as support. We tried to get as creative as we could when thinking through how we could best present the Gospel. Here’s the video that kicked off each worship experience that was displayed on a giant scrim that spanned the width of the stage (props to Fellowship Church for inspiring the look and feel of this piece based on an element we saw at C3).

Of course, the best part about this weekend was witnessing life after life that was changed by the gospel of Jesus. Like I said before, we believed God had something special in store for this weekend, but we never imagined we’d see over 2,200 people make commitments to follow Christ. We never dreamed we’d see over 19,000 people come through the doors this weekend. We wanted to share just a few of the tweets that we received and that Pastor Steven re-tweeted as he was compelled to constantly and publicly give glory to God for what he was doing all weekend long…

Walked a daughter into @eKidz and a mom into #3DEaster service at #Providence. Both walked out with new life in Christ & bibles. Amazing.

I know that God made it his mission that I found Elevation Church. I gave myself to Jesus Christ today. I feel so blessed. #3DEaster

Traveled from Ky to NC to @elevationchurch as favor to friends. Left after fully surrendering my life to Christ. Wrestled w/God 6yrs over this.

Got to pray w/ a husband & wife to receive Christ. Then the wife’s brother-in-law came up & accepted Christ too! #3DEaster

Watched Elevators give up their seats in the WE for another family. One of the daughters gave her life to Jesus. Love my church.

Sat next to a grown man bawling during service and jumped up on his feet to receive Christ! #gamechanger #3DEaster

Just talked to Bill at the Next Level table. A 67-year-old who made a decision to follow Christ today. Amen. #3DEaster

Blessed to see an entire family holding hands & raising them together to accept Christ @ElevationChurch #3DEaster #thankful

A friend visiting from Damascus, Syria gave her life to Christ last night at Elevation Blakeney. Awesome!!! #3DEaster

Both my mom and dad walked away with new believer’s kits today… God is so good!!! #3DEaster

We’re still in awe at the number of lives God transformed at our 3D Easter experiences. You can watch the experience online at The Elevation Experience in 2D or 3D.

The “Why” Behind Our Worship Experiences

Tuesday, March 29th, 2011

Several of you asked for us to explain why we design our experiences the way we do. Here’s some insight from our interns, Jane and Megs.
