Some New Initiatives…

We met with our entire worship team (musicians and vocalists) on Wednesday night. Wade shared some great thoughts on our purpose as worship leaders. I won’t go into that now… i’ll let him blog about it since he said it all so well the other night. But, i do want to share some of our new goals for the team. We are really excited to take our guys and girls to the next level in worship and just dig deeper as men and women of God.

First, we will all be reading Forgotten God, by Francis Chan. You may remember Chris blogging about it a while back. The guys and I read it a few months ago and really felt it spoke to us as worshippers. So now we are really pumped to read it with our entire worship team! Each week until we finish, we will use it as discussion for our Sunday devotional.

Second, we are starting a monthly breakfast with our players and vocalists. It will be a time of learning, prayer, and fellowship. I am really looking forward to seeing the Lord move through this monthly meeting. Just getting everyone in one room on a regular basis will be so much fun!

And third, Wade has cast a great vision for our team on the subject of Prayer and Fasting. So when the time arises, we will begin to fast as an entire team (not just worship leaders). As a church, we have seen God move mightily through fasting and prayer. I am so eager to see how He takes our team to the next level.

So that’s the plan. We are really excited about it! Pray for us… let us know how to pray for you! I hope this challenges some of you to pray and seek the Lord about new ways to bring your team to a higher level of worship. Lets give Him our best! :)

I dom’t know if this is necessarily the right venue to pose this question, but my husband and I were wondering if anyone on your worship team is willing to teach guitar lessons to our son. He is 19 and has recently taken a great interest in the guitar . He has been playing and taking lessons only since January , 2010. and has seemed to plateau with his current teacher. We want to support him in moving forward with guitar , but also want someone who is willing to mentor him in his faith. He does not readily accept the faith of his parents and has not come into his own authentic faith as a believer. He has no real plans after his highschool graduation May 8,2010 but to travel to India. and then someday later go to college. Would anyone of you be able to give him guitar lessons or at least refer us to someone who would be able to …someone who is a believer and has an element of “coolness” Thank you for giving this a little thought and we really appreciate what your team brings to the worship experience. It touches our hearts in a way that we would never know without your talents and gifts.

Fran – London’s husband, Lance, just started teaching guitar lessons. You can contact London at lgatch@elevationchurch.org for more info. I’m sure he’d love to give lessons though.

I enjoy reading your updates here as one who watches from out of town.

As for how you can pray for me: I am about to step out and plant a church… I’ve literally been seeking the Lord in this for 4 years. Our area is SO religious but there are no new churches to reach the next generation.

    Please pray for:

    1. God’s leadership for me as I lead our team – that my spirit be continually open to His instructions
    2. Our team that God has already miraculously been placing around me. These are people He has drawn even before I announced this. Pray that He would knit us together as a powerful leadership group
    3. The people of our region that are His but don’t yet realize… pray that He will use us to dominate :-)

    Thanks so much!
