Album Giveaway

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

It has been quite an exciting week for us here at Elevation Church. Kingdom
Come released a little over a week ago and your response has exceeded all
that we hoped for. We were humbled to see the album climb to the top of the
Itunes Christian charts by noon on release day, but something we did not
expect to happen was to see the album get as high as #16 on the overall
Itunes charts! God continues to amaze us with his favor and faithfulness.

The stories of churches playing the songs from the album to the stories of
families listening to it together are continually coming in. We love
hearing from you all. Keep the stories coming. Many of you have been writing
us saying that you have gotten a copy of the CD and have already given it
away.  We hoped that would happen. We actually did the same thing the Sunday
morning before the release. We gave away the album to everyone in the
worship experience
that day; encouraging them to take as many as they need…so they could also
give them away. It is our hope that this album touches and transforms lives
all over the world. Landing the #1 spot in the Christian/Gospel genre is
great, but it means nothing if we do not reach people far from God so that
they may be filled with life in Christ.

Today is about that. We are giving away five CD’s here today. Maybe you
have yet to get a copy of the album, or you have a friend or family member
who needs to hear it. Now is your chance!

Winning is simple. Leave us a comment below telling us:  What city you’re
writing from, what you plan on doing with the CD should you win one, and
then Tweet this: I just entered for a chance to win “Kingdom Come” from
@elevation_wrshp and you can too by going here:

The winners will be chosen at random.

Story Behind The Song (“This City Is Yours”)

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

This City Is Yours is honestly pretty self explainitory… At Elevation Church, we – as you may have heard – are passionate about the city of Charlotte, NC. We have seen the Lord’s hand, moving us, pushing us, as a city and community, towards redemption and freedom. It’s amazing to be a part of His work.

But God doesn’t need us to accomplish His work… He’s on the move regardless of whether or not we are a part of it. The city of Charlotte is already His – He’s just allowing us to come walk by His side and see Him work.

The choruses are just a prayer for our hearts to be aligned with His – that we would hurt for the people in our lives that don’t know the goodness of His love.

One of the most exciting parts of the song to me is the bridge. When we were writing this song – at first we went for this super singable, repetitive lyric – but then we decided to take it into an entirely different direction. I wanted to use that bridge as a build of anticipation… The feeling we get when we know God is on the verge of doing something great, and we’re witnesses.

Ultimately, this song speaks to the heartbeat of Elevation Church. That people far from God will be filled with life in Christ. We just want to be a part of that vision.

In Raw Form

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

So last night we celebrated the release of “Kingdom Come” by having a lil get together with our musicians at my place. We hopped online and did a livestream with several of you guys to worship together. Perfect way to end the day. In case you missed the stream, here’s the music portion of our time together last night. It’s raw. Unedited. In my living room. Just us and our grateful hearts.

Thanks again for all your support with purchasing the album yesterday. Y’all really took it over the top! And every last penny from yesterday’s downloads is going to families in Uganda. Cannot wait to see how many filters we’re sending over! We’ll know the impact you made by middle of next week! Thank you.
